horizontal vs vertical

We have installed laminate on the main level of the house going in a vertical direction. We have a small set of stairs to upper level. We've already bought the treads etc for stairs and obviously they are horizontal. Is there any way to continue hall at top of stairs vertical not horizontal, so that the whole upstairs matches the direction of the downstairs flooring?

Hi Erin
You can install the laminate either way. There is no right or wrong way to install it. Usually I like to run the laminate down the length of the hallway. If you prefer to run it the same as the lower level thats OK. I even installed it at a 45 degree angle.
