Installing laminate flooring in closets is something that I will explain here. Most often when installing laminate into closets there may be tracks for sliding doors or the brackets for bi fold doors. Of course there are just regular doors also.

As can be seen in this photo I already installed the laminate under the track.
With the sliding doors at closets you can either go under the track into the closet or up to the tracks. To install the laminate under the track, make sure that there is room at the top of the closet doors in order to raise them up a little. Due to the fact that the doors will be raised up because of the thickness of the laminate flooring.
When installing laminate flooring in closets, you may want to stop the laminate at the track. You will need to use a transition or run the laminate under the track. If you run the laminate under the track, you will need to make sure to run it to the back side of the track ( the edge of the track inside the closet) so the track stays level.
if you don't install it under the track, you can use the square edge transition to butt up against the track.
Some sliding doors in closets only have a guide in the middle. The tracks I'm talking about here run from one side to the other.
To check the doors for height look at the tops of the closet doors from behind to see how much they can be raised up. I always feel with my fingers to see how much space is between the top of the door and the track that the closet doors hang on. There are usually screws inside the doors at the top on each side to make the adjustments.
First the closet will need prepped. Ripping out the carpet and tack strip. The ends will need to be undercut with a jamb saw. The oscillating tools they have now, work good for undercutting.
This shows the jamb to the closet after undercutting. The plank here is cut and ready to slide underneath the jamb
After installing the laminate flooring into the closet opening, I set the track where it will be. Next I make marks with the drill bit according to the holes in the track. I use a 1/2 inch wood paddle drill bit and drill holes just through the laminate. The 1/2 inch holes will allow the floor to move. I use wood screws long enough to screw the track to the sub floor.
With the brackets its hard to install around them. You will have to remove them and undercut the wall that the bracket is attached to. After under cutting the wall there the laminate will be installed under it. Then the brackets installed on top of the laminate flooring.
You may need to double check to make sure your closet doors will still fit in the opening from top to bottom.
