True Flooring Laminate From Ifloor Review

This is my True Flooring laminate from Ifloor review. This particular product is under the True Taste name. My client ordered this laminate flooring from Ifloor.com. Ifloor.com has been online since 1999. They had it on sale for 1.59 a square foot with free shipping. It arrived within a week and the driver even wheeled it into the garage, all 2200 lbs. The drivers don't always bring the product into your home. I'm not sure how often they offer free shipping, but as of now (July 2010) they offer 40% off shipping. Their transition strips are priced reasonable also (15.95). The underlayment he purchased was the low end product, at about .16 cents per square foot.

The locking system on this laminate is the drop and lock system. This means that to lock the planks together you connect the long side first and the end joint drops down and locks. So locking the planks together is all done in one motion. This eliminates the step of having to tap the end joints together.

The down side to this is the plank has to be tilted up at and angle to lock the sides together. This can make it a little difficult when installing planks under door jambs

True Floor Laminate- Shaving, Gluing and Tapping Together

What is required is you have to shave some of the locking system off and then apply some glue, so you can tap the planks together while laying flat on the floor.

This photo is True floor laminate flooring from Ifloor.com, Color: Tiramisu Surprise, using wax to prevent squeaks. There was one issue I had with this flooring. After I installed about two thirds of a room, I noticed that some end joints would squeak when stepped on. After examining it a little closer, my client and I decided to fix this by applying wax to the end before installing it.

He found an old candle and as I opened each box I just swipe all the ends at once and this fixed the problem. For the price he paid It is still a good deal for the 12mm True Flooring laminate flooring from Ifloor.

Overall Rating

Based on my experience with this product, I would say it was a good buy.

  • The core material was strong.
  • There was no damaged boards that I found.
  • The finish is very durable.
  • Working around door jambs is a little challenging, but if you take your time it will work as I described.
  • Free shipping is a big plus. This can save a few hundred dollars. And in most cases you will not pay sale tax when buying online.
