Allen Roth Swiftlock Laminate Review

This is my Allen Roth Swiftlock laminate review based on working with this flooring. The reason this is called Allen Roth Swiftlock review is because it mentions Allen Roth and Swiftlock on the label. Swiftlock has been a brand of laminate for years, and now for some reason they are combining the two.

This laminate is sold at Lowe's. This one is the Toasted Chestnut. It measures 4.84 inches wide by 3.94 feet in length, and is 10mm thick. The surface has the handscraped appearance. It also has a 2mm attached pad. It has a AC4 rating with a lifetime warranty. As of mid 2015 the cost for this flooring at Lowe's shows it at 1.79 per square foot. This flooring is Made in the USA which means that the emissions are supposed to be safe for our homes.

Based on my experience with this product, I would install it in my home. The price is reasonable, the product is tough and easy to work with. And having the attached padding makes it even more reasonable.

This installation was in a mobile home which is off the ground. This means it didn't need a moisture barrier.

Installing this laminate flooring was easy. The locking system allowed the planks to be tapped together while laying flat, (The old Swiftlock brand was not so easy to install).

Planks could even be installed without tapping them. To do this you need to be Kneeling on the installed laminate, take a plank engage the short end and pull the plank towards you and tilt it up a little so it will engage along the long side. When the planks can be installed like this, it means the machining on the edges is precise.

Its kind of funny how the names of these laminate floors change over time.

A few years ago I installed Swiftlock laminate and it was a real chore trying to make the floor look good.

Then there came Lowe's, Allen + Roth laminate. Now this latest Allen Roth laminate flooring has the words on it Swiftlock Technology. What this means I don't know, but the old Swiftlock didn't show much technology.

I wrote not very good things about the old Swiftlock, now maybe they improved the product.
